Raster graphics are the most common type of digital image. They are the standard for photographs, video games, and web images. Composition: They are composed of a fixed grid of tiny squares called pixels (picture elements). Definition: Each pixel contains information about its color and position. Resolution Dependence: Raster images are resolution dependent. This means the image's quality is tied to the number of pixels. Scaling: When you enlarge a raster image too much, the individual pixels become visible, making the image look jagged or pixelated.
